FAQ
What does each rating mean?
Real — A verifiable real-world artist or band with positive evidence.
Sus — No explicit AI signs, but we couldn't find enough real-world evidence either.
Slop — Explicitly AI-generated, or has suspicious patterns (e.g., thousands of singles, no albums, bot-like streaming profiles).
Do you use AI to detect AI?
No! We believe in using verifiable, real-world evidence — not AI guessing about AI. We check structured data sources like MusicBrainz, Wikipedia, Bandsintown, and Google Search for concrete signals.
What about indie artists with no data?
Absence of evidence is NOT evidence of slop. A new artist with no Wikipedia page or live gigs gets a "Sus" rating (neutral), not "Slop". Only suspicious patterns count against an artist.
Can I trust the results?
Our checks are simple heuristics based on public data. They're a starting point, not gospel. Every evidence check shows its source so you can verify for yourself.
